§ Mr. Deakinsasked the Lord Privy Seal if the payment of the first rebate in respect of the United Kingdom European Economic Community budget contribution for the current year depends on the completion of the common fisheries policy by 1 January 1981.
§ Sir Ian Gilmour: No. The Government fully accept the aim of completing the CFP negotiations by 1 January 1981, but the budget settlement provides for the making of advance payments to the United Kingdom during 1980. The question of fisheries will continue to be considered on its own merits.
