§ Mr. Marlowasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether each country pays for the salary and expenses of its own Members of the European Assembly ; and if not, to what extent the United Kingdom contributes pro rata to the salaries and expenses of Members from other countries.
§ Mr. Brittan: The salaries of Members of the European Parliament are fixed and paid by their national Governments ; their expenses are reimbursed from the budget of the European Communities.
