§ Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will take steps to increase the amount spent on renewable forms of energy in order to make it more comparable with that spent on nuclear energy.
§ Mr. John MooreMy Department's expenditure on research and development into renewable sources of energy is being increased substantially this financial year. In 1979–80 expenditure by my Department on renewable source programmes approached £7 million. Expenditure in this financial year is expected to be about £11 million.
