§ Mr. Pym: As the final communiqué issued after the meeting of the NATO defence planning committee in ministerial session on 13–14 May shows, Ministers agreed upon a number of near-term defence measures to be undertaken by 57W individual nations. These measures were derived largely from existing plans and designed to improve force capabilities with particular impact on readiness. A copy of the communiqué has been placed in the Library.
