§ Mr. Skinnerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will now implement the Children and Young Persons Act 1969 so that juveniles can no longer be sent to prison.
§ Mr. BrittanJuveniles are not subject to prison sentences. Full exercise of the power in the 1969 Act to preclude the remand of unruly young persons to prison will not be possible until there is adequate alternative local authority provision.
