§ Mr. David MitchellThe Department has already made considerable progress in the achievement of its programme to reduce State ownership and the role of the National Enterprise Board, to expose nationalised industries to the forces of competition, to focus Government assistance to industry more accurately on the areas most in need, and to foster the development of the small-firms sector.
These measures have been complemented by equivalent progress in the programmes of the Government as a whole.
