§ Mr. Wm. Rossasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when it was first decided to erect a new controlled primary school in Limavady to replace the central primary school; what has been the cause of the delay; and when he now expects this school to be provided.
§ Mr. GoodhartThe Department of Education for Northern Ireland first considered proposals put to it by the Western Education and Library Board in 1974. These have had to be considered in the context of the reorganisation of school facilities generally in the area. The present project for a new controlled primary school at Greystone, Limavady to replace the central school has been approved subject to, among other things, the premises and site of the present school being used to extend and modernise accommodation at Limavady secondary intermediate school. A schedule of accommodation has been agreed for the new primary school and outline plans are under consideration, but it is too early to say when the school will be provided.
