§ Mr. Dalyellasked the Lord Privy Seal if he will make a statement on the position of the Channel Islands and the British Crown colony of Hong Kong in relation to the policy of economic sanctions against Iran.
§ Mr. HurdThe Iran (Trading Sanctions) Order 1980 extends to the Channel Islands and United Kingdom dependent territories—including Hong Kong—as well as the United Kingdom. The Export of Goods (Control) (Iran Sanctions) Order 1980 applies to the United Kingdom only, but parallel action is being taken in Hong Kong, and the other dependent territories and the authorities in the Channel Islands have also been asked to take such action.
