asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will list the up-to-date comparisons between take-home pay of nurses and doctors.

(c) 35 years and over in 1978 and 1979; and what were the perinatal and infant mortality rates for each group.

Gross pay reflects, in addition to basic salary for the grade concerned, the various allowances or additional payments to which particular individuals may be entitled. Net pay—or take-home pay—is affected by a variety of factors including income tax, which depend largely on the personal and domestic circumstances of each individual employee.
