Mr. Alexander Fletcher

Minimum areas of educational accommodation, varying with the sizes of schools in terms of numbers of pupils, are prescribed in the School Premises (General Requirements and Standards) (Scotland) Regula- tions 1967 to 1979. For a 420 pupil primary school and for a 1,000 pupil secondary school providing courses at all stages of secondary education, for example, these are equivalent to 2.75 and 6.01 square metres, respectively, per pupil.
