HC Deb 31 July 1980 vol 989 c782W
Mr. Dudley Smith

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how widely he proposes to distribute the forthcoming code of practice on picketing; and whether he will ensure that it reaches a larger audience than only employers' organisations and trade union leaders.

Mr. Mayhew

My right hon. Friend will shortly be publishing draft codes of practice on both picketing and the closed shop. The codes will be sent for comment to a number of organisations representing employers, trade unions, the police and others with an interest in these subjects. In addition we intend to ensure that they are given the widest possible publicity on the day of publication and that copies are freely available from my Department to anyone who wishes to comment.
