Mr. Beith

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he will list in full those territories, departments and colonies outside Europe from which students will be eligible to pay fees at the home student rate in British universities and colleges by virtue of their being treated as part of the European Economic Community.

The countries outside Europe which are in the area comprising the European Economic Community as constituted on 19 May 1980 and from which students from 1 September 1980 onwards will be eligible to pay fees at the home student rate are as follows:

Greenland; The overseas departments of France, namely, Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, Reunion, St. Pierre and Miquelon.
