§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will cause an investigation to be made into why 69 cannabis plants have been grown in Hyde park; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MonroPolice inquiries about the presence of cannabis plants in a bird sanctuary at Hyde park are still being made. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has given an instruction that a departmental investigation should be conducted when the Metropolitan Police has finished its inquiries. Until the police inquiries and the departmental investigation have been 743W concluded it would be premature to make a statement.
