§ Mr. Stephen Rossasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in view of the overwhelming support for such action expressed by hon. Members, he will now impose a total ban on the import of all whale products.
§ Mr. KingI am pleased to say that the United Kingdom has taken the initiative for a European Community ban. As a result a Community regulation banning the importation of primary whale products from 1 January 1982 has been agreed in principle.
