HC Deb 28 July 1980 vol 989 cc461-2W
Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will estimate how many people currently in full-time employment receive gross wages of £3–60 per day or less; and if he will state that figure as a percentage of the total number of people in full-time employment.

Mr. Jim Lester

The evidence from official surveys suggests that there are no full-time employees with gross earnings at a daily rate of £3.60—equivalent to a weekly rate of £18 for a five day week—or less.
