HC Deb 28 July 1980 vol 989 c570W
Mr. Donald Stewart

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the total amount of grant paid at the nearest available date to assist hotels and boarding houses to meet their obligations under fire safety Acts; and how many establishments still require to meet the basic standards of fire prevention.

Mr. Younger

According to information provided by the fire authorities, 353 of the 4,492 establishments subject to the Fire Precautions (Hotels and Boarding Houses) (Scotland) Order 1972 had still to receive a fire certificate at 30 June; 313 of these had been inspected with a view to certification. There are no Exchequer grants payable in connection with the order.
