§ Mr. Shersbyasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department why there has been a delay between the passage of the Gaming (Amendment) Act 1980 in March and the laying of the appropriate order implementing the powers conferred by the Act; and if he will now take the necessary action to avoid further delay as a result of the impending parliamentary recess.
§ Mr. WhitelawThe Government gave no undertaking to make immediate use of the power conferred by this Act to increase the maximum winnings in games of linked bingo, but I hope soon to be in a position to lay an order providing for such an increase.
