HC Deb 22 July 1980 vol 989 cc183-4W
Mr. David Marshall

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish a record of Shettleston housing association's revenue deficit grant payments from its inception to date.

Mr. Rifkind

£19,444 revenue deficit grant was paid in respect of a claim for the year ending 31 March 1979.

Mr. David Marshall

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what the Housing Corporation overdraft guarantee is for Shettleston housing association; and what is the actual overdraft.

Mr. Rifkind

I understand from the Housing Corporation that its overdraft guarantee was increased from £15,000 to £45,000 on 27 May this year. The actual overdraft at 17 July was £22,000.

Mr. David Marshall

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how much capital grant has been given to Shettleston housing association since its inception for the acquisition and improvement of houses; how many houses have been acquired; how many have been improved; and if he is satisfied with the rate of progress.

Mr. Rifkind

Approximately £600,000 capital grant has been paid for acquisition since 1976; none as yet for improvement. 402 houses have been acquired. Tenders have been approved for the improvement of 153 houses, approximately 50 of which have now been completed.

Mr. David Marshall

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland when the last monitoring investigation was conducted by the Housing Corporation on Shettleston housing association; what were its findings; and what were its recommendations.

Mr. Rifkind

This is a matter for the Housing Corporation and I have asked its chief officer for Scotland to write to the hon. Member.
