§ 49. Mr. Freudasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he has any proposals to establish minimum nutritional standards to recommend to local authorities for the midday meal which should be provided for a child in school on supplementary benefit.
§ Dr. BoysonNo. Under section 22 of the Education Act 1980 a local education authority is required to make such provision in the middle of the day as appears to the authority to be requisite for any pupil whose parents receive supplementary benefit or family income supplement.
