§ Mr. Jim LesterThe Manpower Services Commission, which is responsible for the public employment service, proposes to continue the development of jobcentres on the lines recommended in "Employment Service in the 1980s" which the commission published in October 1979. In this process various aspects of the service are being examined further and the commission is also considering how far jobcentre services will have to be adjusted as a result of manpower cuts and very high levels of unemployment.
