§ Mr. Beithasked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) whether he will advise local authorities not to impose charges for building regulation approval until he has completed his reconsideration of the drafting of the order authorising the charges;
(2) how many local authorities have so far introduced charges for building regulation approval.
§ Mr. Geoffrey FinsbergI understand that of the 389 building control authorities only two are known not to have introduced charges. My right hon. Friend has undertaken to review the working of the scheme after six months' operation.
