asked the Minister of Transport if he will give a general direction to British Railways not to provide free travel to transport workers from other countries such as the Republic of Ireland; and if he will make a statement.

This is a matter for the Railways Board. The board tells me, however, that it restricts such travel concessions to cases where reciprocal ones are available for its own staff.
