HC Deb 22 July 1980 vol 989 cc185-6W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the total sum of money being expended annually on the problem of alcoholism by the following agencies: Council on Alcohol-Related Problems, Northern Ireland Council on Alcohol, Northlands Centre, Londonderry; and what is the current contribution made by the taxpayer to each of them.

Mr. Alison

Information about the annual expenditure undertaken by these bodies is not readily available as it is the responsibility of the bodies themselves. The following amounts were paid to them from public funds during the financial year 1979–80:

Council on Alcohol Related Problems £4,000
Northern Ireland Council on Alcohol £23,530
Northlands Centre £62,296
