§ Mrs. Knightasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will set up a feasibility study to examine the prospects for building a new Birmingham eye hospital on either the Queen Elizabeth medical centre site or the Birmingham general hospital site.
§ Dr. VaughanThis is a matter to be decided locally by the health authorities concerned. The Birmingham area health authority (teaching) asked the West Midlands regional health authority to set up a feasibility study with a view to providing the Birmingham eye hospital on the Birmingham general hospital site. This has now been accepted by the regional health authority and a joint study between the two authorities will commence shortly.
