§ Mr. Brittan164 television sets are provided by the Home Office in prison department establishments for educational purposes. These do not need to be licensed because Crown exemption applies. No record is kept centrally of the number of sets for recreational purposes provided from inmates' funds, but each establishment which has such a set or sets needs to obtain a licence.
