§ Mr. Dubsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether the raids by the immigration service and the police at Bestway Cash and Carry and other premises on 13 May, at the Hilton Hotel on 22 May and at the Main Gas factory on 20 June were each undertaken on the decision of a Minister; and if not, at what level each was authorised to be undertaken.
§ Mr. RaisonThe operations by immigration service officers were authorised in662W accordance with the policy which had been agreed by Ministers. As far as the police were concerned, these were matters for the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis.
§ Mr. Dubsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department on what dates the management of the Bestway Cash and Carry and the Main Gas factory were first informed of the intention to conduct the operations by the immigration service and police which were carried out on 13 May and 20 June respectively.
