§ Mr. McQuarrieasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will take steps to ensure that Colorado beetles do not get established in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. WigginThe Import and Export (Plant Health) (Great Britain) Order 1980 requires controls in exporting countries, backed by official certification, to ensure that exports to us are free from Colorado beetles. The effectiveness of these controls is checked through import inspections in this country. If a colony of Colorado beetles is discovered in this country, the Ministry has made provisions for emergency action.
