HL Deb 14 July 1980 vol 411 c1601WA
Lord AVEBURY

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What new policies they have adopted since the last election, with a view to the achievement of racial equality in Britain.

The PARLIAMENTARY UNDERSECRETARY of STATE, HOME OFFICE (Lord Belstead)

The Government's policies relevant to racial equality cannot adequately be summarised within the compass of a reply to a Question. I would refer the noble Lord to the speech by my right honourable friend the Home Secretary at the AGM of the Birmingham Community Relations Council which dealt with some of these matters, a copy of which has been placed in the Library.
