§ 20. Mr. Rentonasked the Secretary of State for Trade when the remaining enabling orders for the main sections of the Competition Act 1980 are to be made.
§ Mrs. Sally OppenheimI have today signed a number of orders and regulations under the Competition Act, including a commencement order to bring the remaining sections of the Act into operation, and an order providing for the exclusion of small firms and certain specific activities from the provisions on anti-competitive practices. The orders and regulations will be laid before Parliament shortly where this is required.
