HC Deb 14 July 1980 vol 988 c425W
Mr. Bradford

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, following the report of the children and young persons review group on the adoption of children, if it is the Government's intention to introduce new legislation in Northern Ireland; and if he will outline any proposed changes.

Mr. Alison

The review group has not yet published a report on this subject. The review group issued a consultative paper "Adoption of Children in Northern Ireland" in February 1980, but is still in the process of taking oral evidence. The review group hope to be able to submit a report on the subject, making recommendations before the end of the year, but it is not possible to say at this stage what those recommendations will be.
