HC Deb 07 July 1980 vol 988 cc81-2W
Mr. Peter Robinson

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will list in the Official Report full details of the improvements with cost, made to the clinical chemistry laboratory of the Ulster hospital.

Mr. Alison

About £114,000 was spent between 1 April 1977 and 31 March 1980 on new and replacement equipment and associated facilities for the clinical chemistry department of the Ulster hospital laboratory.

I cannot see that any useful purpose would be served by my itemising these improvements.

vehicles have been examined for mechanical defects at road stops during each of the past five years; how many offences were discovered in each year; what was the nature of the defects; how many drivers were required to produce their vehicles at a police station with the defects remedied; and how many drivers were eventually convicted each year.

Mr. Goodhart

The available information is as follows. Information on the number of drivers subsequently convicted is not available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
