§ Mr. Nicholas Edwards; On 12 June 1980 there were 4,164 males and 2,451 females registered as unemployed in the area, the equivalent of an unemployment 36W percentage rate of 7.8 per cent. for males and 8.8 per cent. for females. Corresponding figures and rates for June 1979 were 3,336 and 1,965 and 6.2 per cent. and 7.1 per cent. respectively. In all cases these calculations are based on estimates of the insured population at mid-1977.
