asked the Attorney-General how many applications for habeas corpus in immigration cases have been granted and how many refused in each of the last five years.

In 1979, the only year for which information is available, 23 applications were made for habeas corpus. Of these three are still pending. Of the other 20, 18 were refused, and two not proceeded with.
