§ 36. Mr. Michael Brownasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what was the total cost to public funds of policing demonstrations by the Metropolitan Police for the last 12 months for which figures are available.
§ Mr. BrittanThe Commissioner has estimated the cost of policing all demonstrations, marches and meetings in 1979 which required the presence of 100 or more police officers as some £5.75 million.
