§ Mr. Millanasked the Secretary of State for Energy what is the number of vessels available for emergency fire-fighting and support purposes within the five sector clubs in the North Sea; which sectors expect delivery of a multi-purpose emergency support vessel; who are the builders of these vessels; and what are the planned and actual dates of delivery to the sector club operators.
§ Mr. GrayThe United Kingdom Offshore Operators Association has advised me that there are 22 rapid intervention vessels and three multi-function support vessels available for emergency fire-fighting and support purposes in the sector clubs which fall wholly or partly on the United Kingdom continental shelf. Multi-purpose emergency support vessels are on order for the red and yellow sector clubs; their builders—(with planned delivery dates)—are Rauma of Finland—(June 1981)—and Scott Lithgow of Scotland—(mid-1981)—respectively.
