Whether they will list the total sums spent on:

  • Defence
  • Health
  • Social Security
  • Education, Science and the Arts
  • Law and Order
  • Roads and Transport
  • Housing
  • Overseas Aid
  • Agriculture, Fisheries, Food etc
  • Industry, Energy, Trade and Employment
  • Government Lending to Nationalised Industries
  • Northern Ireland
  • Other Services in 1960 and 1979, in current and 1979 prices; and whether these data could be expressed as a percentage of (a) total public expenditure and (b) GNP.

Figures for 1979 are not yet available. Figures for 1960 are not available: the programmes in the annual public expenditure White Papers were restructured in 1973 and figures for earlier years could not be compiled without disproportionate time and cost.
