§ Mr. McQuarrieasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will intrduce legislation to prevent pump prices being increased for motor fuels immediately the OPEC price rises are announced, despite the existence of considerable stocks held at depots and filling stations.
§ Mr. GrayNo. I do not believe such controls are necessary. The recent product price increases reflected certain crude oil price increases, some of which were imposed on the oil companies retrospectively.
