§ Dr. McDonaldasked the Secretary of State for Trade if he will place in the Library a copy of the latest annual report on the pay and conditions of work of black workers employed by subsidiaries of Shell and BP in South Africa; and if he will make a statement about allegations that the companies are paying their black employees wages below the poverty level.
§ Mr. ParkinsonI hope to make a general statement about the latest round of reports under the code of conduct as soon as possible. At that time, copies of all reports received by my Department will be placed in the Library. In the meantime, if the hon. Member wishes to see copies of the latest reports from the two companies mentioned, she should apply to them direct.
