§ Mr. RifkindWhile the Radioactive Substances Act 1960 gives adequate control of a wide range of radioactive wastes, I am considering with my colleagues if any legislative changes are needed to enable us to carry out the wider aspects of the responsibility for nuclear waste management listed in the White Paper "Nuclear Power and the Environment"(Cmnd. 6820) issued in May 1977 by the previous Government. It is, as yet, premature to anticipate the form of any possible changes.
