§ Mr. McQuarrieasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will meet the representatives of the herring and white fish merchants and processors to discuss the increase in the levy to the White Fish Authority and Herring Industry Board.
§ Mr. YoungerNo. My right hon. Friends and I have carefully considered all the objections made to the White Fish Authority's application for increases in both its general and publicity levies. We have decided to reject the proposed increase in the publicity levy, but to seek partilamentary approval to confirm the increase proposed in the general levy. No application for an increase in its levy has been made by the Herring Industry Board.
