§ 14. Mr. Haselhurstasked the Secretary of State for Employment whether his Department has carried out a survey of the different types of training schemes for young people which have been pioneered by employers and voluntary bodies; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. PriorI am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that a number of surveys relating to training provision have been carried out in recent years, in particular those which preceded the introduction of the youth opportunities programme and the training for skills programme for action. A survey has also recently been completed by the National Foundation for Educational Research for the MSC and the Department of Education and Science on the development of the unified vocational preparation schemes.
