§ Mr. St. John-StevasThe conditions of the Turner Bequest are a matter for the trustees of the museums and galleries concerned. The trustees of the Tate Gallery are considering a munificent offer by a charitable foundation to assist with the building of a Turner museum. I am greatly appreciative of this constructive and generous initiative. I have been closely in touch with the trustees and other interested parties throughout, and will continue to be so in the future.
