HC Deb 21 January 1980 vol 977 c14W
Mr. Walter Johnson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will give advice to the Jockey Club to advertise nationally the new post of chairman of the recently appointed Horse-racing Advisory Council;

(2) what qualifications are required for the post of chairman of the Horseracing Advisory Council; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Whitelaw

Appointments to the Horseracing Advisory Council are a matter for the racing industry in which it would not be appropriate for me to intervene.
