§ Mr. Meacherasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland (1) if he will indicate, for each police area, the number of persons who have died each year whilst in police custody as a result, respectively, of natural causes, misadventure, accidental death, suicide, and manslaughter, and the number of cases each year where no verdict was given at the inquest, and where there was an open verdict, and where no inquest was held;
(2) if he will list the names of all persons who have died from non-natural causes whilst in police custody since 1970, stating the name of the police station where they died, the date of death, and the cause of death as stated on the death certificate.
