HC Deb 14 January 1980 vol 976 c623W
Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the total amount at 1 January covered by certificates of indemnity issued by the Ulster museum in respect of objects on long-term loans to its permanent collection.

Mr. Goodhart

£55,624.

Mr. Faulds

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether he will publish in the Official Reportthe attendance figures for 1979 reported by the Ulster museum, comprising its outstations, with the percentage increase or decrease on the attendance figures for 1978.

Mr. Goodhart

It is estimated that 190,043 people visited the Ulster museum and the Armagh county museum in 1979, about 11 per cent. less than in 1978. The fall is attributed to the museums being closed for part of January, due to a shortage of heating oil.
