§ Mr. StanleyThe total of rent rebates paid by local authorities in England in the current financial year 1979–80 is provisionally estimated to be £378 million—outturn prices. It is for authorities 607W themselves to determine their own rent levels, but if all local authorities were to increase their rents by £1.50 per week on average the total in 1980–81 on the same price basis is projected to be £419 million.
