HC Deb 14 January 1980 vol 976 c620W
Mr. Geraint Howells

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he is satisfied with the level of health care in Wales; what plans he has for improvement; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

The Health Service in Wales does an excellent job. The health authorities have had commendable success in achieving efficiency, and many improvements have been carried through in recent years. Major developments beyond those already planned will call for greater resources, which in turn depends on the success of the Government's policies for strengthening the economy. Our plans for improving the structure and management of the Health Service have been set out in the consultative paper "Patients First".
