Mr. Michael Martin

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what arrangements he proposes to make for examination of the circumstances of the sale of Robroyston hospital and its surrounding land.

Mr. Younger

I have appointed Professor J. M. Halliday to conduct this review and Mr. Kenneth Ryden to act with him. The terms of reference areTo examine the arrangements under which Robroyston hospital and its surrounding land was sold by the Scottish Home and Health Department: to consider whether in the light of that sale any improvements are desirable in the procedures for the sale of land in Scotland surplus to National Health Service requirements: and to report.
