§ Mr.David MitchellWe are planning a reduction of about a third in the number of forms sent to firms in the quarterly manufacturing sales inquiries. Some other inquiries will be shifted from a monthly to a quarterly basis, some will be slimmed down and some will be stopped altogether. It is too soon to give details.
We are determined to reduce the burden of form filling, particularly on small firms.

§ Mr.David MitchellThe Government are pursuing a wide range of objectives to improve the economic environment for small firms. A number of measures by the Department were announced on 7 November and other Ministers have also announced changes that will benefit small firms. Further measures will be announced as and when they are ready designed to increase the incentive for those who start or expand a business, and460W to reduce the burdens carried by the small firm.
