(2) what was the size of the labour force in the North-East Lancashire sub-region in each of the years 1970 to 1979; and what was the number of (a) school leavers and (b) persons retiring, in each of those years.
§ Mr. Jim Lester[pursuant to his reply 20 February 1980]: The following are the total numbers of employees in employment plus the registered unemployed in the North-East Lancashire sub-region in June of each year from 1971—the first year in which the census of employment was conducted—to 1977—the latest available census results. Projections giving figures beyond 1977 have not been made.
